Lasik Eye Surgery FAQ:
I’m 21 and I want to get lasik eye surgery but I believe my prescription isn’t stable but they will still allow me to do the operation, is this due to me wearing glasses? If i get lasik and not wear glasses anymore would my eyes probably not change prescription anymore?

No. Your prescription only changes with age.
I believe after wearing glasses for awhile your prescription refill will eventually need to be stronger. With Lasik you maintain the same sight variant.
Well, I haven’t had it myself personally, but a lot of friends swear by it, and are glad that they got it. My brother got it India through India Health Guru Consultants, and he said it was great Lasik eye surgery helped millions of people to be able to see, without the help of contacts and glasses. It will help you too, but make sure you get the right doctor for the procedure. After the surgery, one feels mild discomfort or pain for a couple of days. The procedure itself is not painful because they give you anaesthetic drops to numb the eye. For the first week, one may have sensitivity to light as blurry vision and dry eyes. All these side effects disappear within a few days and. The process is simple, safe and fast. They are making big improvements in this field, so it’s probably worth it if you can afford it and don’t need to use your eyes for a few days

You can only find out the answer to these questions from your eye doctor. Your wearing glasses would not cause your vision to worsen, that happens with age.
It is in very rare cases that you are asked to wear glasses after LASIK eye surgery…
LASIK eye surgery is probably the safest, quickest and easiest way to improve your vision. The healing process happens quickly and for most patients, the process is uneventful. However, in spite of all the cards being stacked in your favor, it is important that you follow the recovery procedure your doctor has outlined for you in order to insure a speedy recovery without any complications.
First and foremost, you’ll need to apply the medications prescribed by your doctor according to the established schedule. In most cases, you’ll have a steroid based medication that you’ll apply quite frequently during the first four hours after LASIK eye surgery. Also, you may have antibiotic eye drops that will help prevent any infection. Be sure to adhere to the schedule with these medications, especially during the first four hours.
As you start to get back into your normal daily activities, there are certain things you’ll need to avoid -
* Don’t get involved in any activities that could result in an object coming into contact with your eyes.
* When you shower, don’t allow the water stream to hit your eyes.
* Don’t get soap or shampoo in your eyes.
* Don’t get dust or pet hair in your eyes.
* Don’t rub your eyes.
* Don’t go out in bright sunlight without sun glasses.
* Don’t let your eyes get too dry – use the artificial tears as often as needed.
* Don’t rub your eyes while you’re sleeping – a special mask, provided by your doctor will protect your eyes while sleeping.
It is absolutely imperative that you faithfully follow your doctor’s schedule for medications, especially during the first week after your procedure. When you are following the instructions, then there are very less chances of variation in prescription.
Keep in mind that a common side effect of this procedure is dry eyes. I know someone who had it done a couple of years ago and is still needing to use eye drops.
It is very unwise to proceed for surgery when your power is still unstable. This is not due to wearing glasses at all and your power is still going to increase even after lasik.
