I have heard of some being $2000 or more per eye and some as few as $500/eye. It all depends on where you go and what needs to be done also. Some may charge one flat rate and some can charge $500/eye but it is extra for astigmatism. I am located in Upstate New York and there is a place in Syracuse, NY that has doctors from Canada that does it. This place is called LasikMD and the site is LasikMD.com. I did not have it done there because it is a drive for me to go get it done there and have post ops. I know many people that have had it done by this group in Canada and they loved it and were glad to hear that it was now located in Syracuse. About the health insurance part. Health Insurance does not cover LASIK, although I do have MVP Health Insurance and they will do a discount of 10%-15% if the LASIK doctor participates. So it may be something you will have to look at with your health insurance. If you want to know if I would recommend having LASIK, the answer is 100% yes if done by the right doctor.
