around 2-3 thousand
I had mine done last April. The amount of money depends on how bad your vision is. Mine was $1000….my eyesight wasn’t too bad. It is very uncomfortable thing to do but it is over in 4 minutes. The worse part is the clamps they put in your eyes to keep them open but they do not hurt. The only bad thing is you have to wear the stupid goggles for 2 weeks after so you don’t rub your eyes in your sleep. You have to use eye drops too but I only used them for a week or so. It’s absolutely worth it!!
Investigate all your options before you choose Lasik — see the link below.
Hello, Ana. I am a representative from LasikPlus hoping to provide you an answer to your question.
The price of laser correction vision surgery varies significantly by provider, type of procedure to be performed, and equipment used. WebMD estimates that typical costs for LASIK are in the range of $2,200-$2,250 per eye. While these one-time figures may seem high to some, we know how rewarding and valuable LASIK is to our patients – it is a life altering experience. Therefore, we try to provide plenty of options when it comes to financing their LASIK procedure.
LASIK is a minimally-invasive, virtually painless procedure conducted on an outpatient basis in a vision center or an eye surgeon’s office. Patients experience virtually no discomfort during the procedure. Immediately after treatment, some patients have reported minor discomfort, like having an eyelash or a dry contact lens in their eye. This sensation generally disappears after the first day. You will probably notice a significant, immediate improvement in your vision, which will continue to improve over the days and weeks following your procedure.
While this is some of the general information that I can provide on the topic, every person’s eyes are different. To learn more about the procedure that would be right for you and the steps involved, it would be best for you to speak to a physician and take advantage of the free consultation. Some national chains advertise Lasik prices as low at $299 an eye, but a look at the financial reports of those same chains will find that the average Lasik cost is about $1,350 per eye. The price of Lasik varies from about $1,400 to $3,600 per eye, depending on the surgeon and technology, according to David Harmon, president of the St. Louis research firm Market Scope.
I work with a nonprofit organization that does not provide Lasik – just Lasik information and certify Lasik doctor patient outcomes – but they do pay attention to Lasik price issues.
What is paid will depend greatly onyour unique circumstances, which procedure is recommended, and market competition. With the economy down, many Lasik centers are reducing their price. You can even negotiate if you are able to make a decision straight away.
