How old do you have to be to get Lasik Eye Surgery?

Lasik Eye Surgery FAQ:

18, 21, or can it be when you are a teenager? I want to get it but I dont know how old I have to be.

but i believe its not based on age but on condition of your eyes. i think they refuse to do it if your sight still changes, it must stop before the do anything

They want to be sure you are completely done growing before they set your eyes for a certain curvature.

No reputable eye clinic would give you eye surgery before that age, parent permission or not. I had my eyes done and it’s the best investment I ever made.
Danni August 15, 2009 at 12:07 am: My Dr. likes 21 but will do it at 18. It really depends on your eyes they have to be mature and your vision stable. Usually if you have changed your prescription recently you will have to wait. you may not want to hear that but at about $1500 per eye you wouldn’t want your eyes still changing.
